How Does It Work?
Real-time video is sent as packets from a sender to a receiver. When packets are lost, video can freeze. Most systems either wait it out, retransmit the missing data, or add redundancy so the receiver can recover what was lost.
Treseder AI takes the redundancy approach, but makes it more effective. We use a proprietary form of redundancy and AI-driven tuning to adjust protection as network conditions change, reducing freezes and latency while using less bandwidth.
Lossy Networks
Packet loss is common in real-world networks, and it often arrives in bursts. It is not just a bandwidth problem: even high-throughput connections can lose packets during congestion or interference. For real-time communications with meaningful round-trip delay, there is not enough time to wait for retransmissions, and skipping lost data can cause visible disruption. In lab testing against the industry’s gold-standard FEC, the same class of code used by leaders like Microsoft, Meta, and Nvidia and far stronger than the FEC behind WebRTC, ReliaPlay delivered 10.9x fewer freezes, 14.8% lower bandwidth usage, and recovered 97.8% of frames within a single frame interval.
